About me

Every relationship we have, big or small, family, friendship or lover, needs to be good for us.

Hello, I'm Sandra. I began training in Counselling in 2013 and after 4 years training I qualified as an BACP registered Integrative Counsellor, I have been in private practice with clients since 2016. I have trained in diverse types of therapy, including psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapies. I will work with you, at your pace, to help you be the best version of YOU.

Integrative Counsellor, Life Coach and Writing/journal therapist.

Skype, In person and Telephone Counselling to suit you.

I am fully insured with public liability insurance.

I can help you to make the most of life, to achieve better coping mechanisms for mental health, and many other things you wish to achieve. I work with a huge range of clients, covering mental health, relationship issues, self-esteem and confidence issues, self harm and life changes, plus much more.

I have campaigned for years against the stigma of mental health issues, and promote understanding, empathy and knowledge and am well known in the field of mental health and as author of mental health memoirs and a self help book.

I had a lot of adversity in my younger years, for which I had various therapeutic help, and it was the realisation of how powerful talking therapies can be, that made me want to become a counsellor and help others as I was helped myself.

As a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), I ensure I work to the highest standard, and continue to grow over the years, by taking part in regular training and studies, including personality disorder, trauma, mindfulness, sibling ambivalence, positive psychology, living with mortality, gender/sexuality/relationships, Psychodynamic Inner Child healing, early attachments and food and early attachments and addiction.

Professional Development

Academic training

Journal articles

I write articles on mental health and self care and am an advocate for those suffering with mental health issues.

Clinical experience

I have worked with clients with difficulties with homelessness., BPD, depression, anxiety, low mood, relationships, mood disorders and work issues.

Therapy Approaches

Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps us to be more 'in the moment', living life more fully and appreciating the five senses, Sight, Sound, Taste, Smell and Touch.

Psychodynamic

Looking in to the past, particularly at childhood, to find out where we picked up habits, core beliefs and attachment/relationship styles.

Life Writing

Life Writing and Journalling can help us to delve deeper into our thoughts and feelings and work on specific things. It can also be done at home, which is an excellent way to continue working on yourself.

Cognitive Behavioral

Looking at thought processes and how our thoughts affect our actions, behaviours and feelings. Working with coping mechanisms and exploring our thoughts and any evidence behind them.

Let's Talk

The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can talk on the phone about what's on your mind.
